Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about inventory tracking

How often does inventory update?
Every 30 seconds. When a customer orders a product, inventory levels update within 30 seconds across the system. This ensures you always see near-real-time availability when checking stock levels.
Can I see inventory for specific warehouses?
Yes, the dashboard shows both total inventory across all warehouses and breakdown by individual warehouse. For example, you can see Delhi: 15 units, Mumbai: 22 units, Bangalore: 8 units, Total: 45 units.
What happens if I list a product and it goes out of stock before customer orders?
Stock alerts will notify you when inventory drops below your threshold. You can delist the product before any orders come in. If an order does come in and stock is depleted, GridRay will notify you immediately so you can cancel/refund the order before dispatch.
Does the system reserve inventory for pending orders?
Yes, there's an automatic buffer. If total stock is 20 units and you have 5 pending orders (not yet dispatched), the system shows "Available: 15 units." The 5 units are reserved for those pending orders, preventing overselling.
Can I set different alert thresholds for different products?
Yes, stock alerts are customizable per product. For fast-moving items, you might set threshold at 10 units. For slow movers, maybe 2 units. Or no alerts at all for products you don't actively track.
What about multi-channel inventory sync?
This feature is coming soon. When launched, selling 1 unit on Amazon will automatically update inventory visibility for Flipkart, Shopify, Instagram, etc. For now, GridRay dashboard is the single source of truth you check before listing on any channel.
How accurate is the inventory data?
99.9% accuracy. Data comes directly from warehouse management systems. Rare discrepancies (physical count vs. system count) are caught during regular warehouse audits and corrected immediately. If you ever see an error, report it and we fix it within hours.
Can I access inventory data via API for automation?
API access is coming soon for Growth and Scale tier subscribers. This will allow automated inventory checks, webhook notifications, and integration with your own systems for advanced sellers.
